SAT Crash Course

The SAT Math section tests your understanding of mathematical concepts and your ability to apply them in real-world scenarios. The math section is divided into two parts:

  1. No Calculator Section: In this section, you must solve problems without the use of a calculator. It focuses on basic arithmetic, algebra, and some advanced topics that do not require a calculator for solution.

  2. Calculator Section: This section allows you to use a calculator and involves more complex questions, including geometry, data analysis, and algebra.

Both parts of the math section evaluate your problem-solving ability, analytical skills, and mathematical reasoning. The questions you encounter will test a range of topics, from algebra to statistics, and some questions will require multiple steps to solve.

Explanation of Question Types and Strategies

  • Algebra and Problem-Solving: You will encounter questions that test your understanding of linear equations, inequalities, and expressions. Focus on simplifying problems and using algebraic methods to solve them.

  • Data Analysis and Word Problems: Some questions will present data, graphs, and tables, and you will need to interpret and analyze the information. Word problems will ask you to translate a written scenario into a mathematical equation and then solve it.

  • Geometry and Trigonometry: These questions focus on properties of shapes, angles, and measurement, including volume, area, and basic trigonometric relationships. Make sure you are familiar with common formulas.
