A strong character feels like a real person — with emotions, contradictions, and a journey.

🔹 Key Traits of Strong Characters:

  1. Goal – What do they want?

  2. Motivation – Why do they want it?

  3. Conflict – What stands in their way?

  4. Flaws – What personal traits make it harder?

  5. Change – How do they grow?

🎬 Example: Tony Stark (Iron Man)

  • Goal: Build tech and protect the world

  • Motivation: Guilt over his weapons harming innocents

  • Conflict: External villains + internal arrogance

  • Flaws: Narcissism, recklessness

  • Change: Becomes more selfless and emotionally grounded by the end

🔸 Pro Tip:

When you plan a story, interview your characters like a journalist. Ask:

  • What keeps them up at night?

  • What’s one mistake they regret?

  • Who do they secretly admire or envy?
